October is always a fun month here at Rocky Ridge Retirement. We will be kicking off the month with a fabulous Oktoberfest Day with The Chinook Line Dancers entertaining us with their Bavarian style dancing. Later, our Executive Chef will be serving a themed dinner followed by more entertainment.
Our walk for Alzheimer’s will be taking place on Friday, October 6th. It’s not too late to sign up! It you don’t wish to take part, you are welcome to come and cheer everyone along. Let’s send a message of hope to the 564,000 Canadians currently living with dementia, the thousands of care givers and of course our own Memory Care Family.
We will then be giving thanks at Thanksgiving dinner. We will be serving two turkey dinners on Sunday, October 8th and Monday, October 9th and so there will be plenty of opportunity to celebrate the blessings that the year has brought us.
At the end of the month we will be doing the monster mash at a Halloween dance party with entertainment. Residents are invited to dress up as there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd best dressed. We promise that it will be a SPOOK-tacular event!!
On October 12th, bus will be heading out to Butterfield Acres, a local petting farm which is very festive at this time of year. A lunch trip is also planned to Bow Valley Ranche in the heart of Fish Creek Park on October 19th .
